Shawn J. Brooks
Biography
Shawn J. Brooks is a Partner in our Jacksonville office, specializing in professional negligence, medical malpractice, health care, general liability, products liability, and transportation.
Prior to Hall Booth Smith, Shawn worked for a large defense firm based in Miami, where he focused on civil litigation. Throughout his career, he has represented hospitals, health systems, skilled nursing facilities, physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals all over the state on matters including pre-suit claims to investigation, mediation, and motion hearings.
Additionally, Shawn has represented businesses and business owners in matters involving negligent security as well as general premises liability. His other areas of experience include personal injury, trucking/car accidents, legal malpractice, and products liability.
Shawn received a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami. During law school, he was a member and Senior Article Editor for the National Security and Armed Conflict Law Review. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida.
He is admitted to practice by the State Bar of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
