Overview

Allison Averbuch is an associate in our Atlanta office, focused on employment law and general liability.
Ms. Averbuch has experience defending employers in single-plaintiff and class-action discrimination and wage-and-hour cases. She has also represented clients in matters involving non-compete agreements, trade secrets, breach-of-contract claims, and internal investigations.  
Ms. Averbuch volunteers with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Safe Families Office, seeking protective orders on behalf of domestic violence victims, and serves on the Georgia State University Law Alumni Council. 
Ms. Averbuch earned her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the Georgia State University College of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in English, cum laude, from the College of William and Mary. 
During law school, Ms. Averbuch served as the Symposium Editor for the Georgia State Law Review and was a pupil in the Bleckley Inn of Court. Ms. Averbuch also worked for the Honorable George H. Carley, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia, handling Georgia appellate cases. She was awarded the Georgia State University College of Law Scholarship and Leadership Award, the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers' Outstanding Law Student Award, the Outer Barristers' Guild Award, and the David J. Maleski Prize for Excellence in Torts.

Employment

Ms. Averbuch's experience includes defending employers in individual discrimination employment disputes and multi-plaintiff and class action litigation involving wage and hour (Fair Labor Standards Act) issues.  She has also defended cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.   
In addition to her litigation work, Ms. Averbuch has experience involving non-competition agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of contract claims.  Ms. Averbuch has experience conducting internal investigations of employment issues, including investigations at the executive level.
