Mr. Kerenyi is Of Counsel at Hall Booth Smith's Atlanta office where he specializes in various areas of litigation and transactional work. Mr. Kerenyi received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994 from Cornell University (where he was named to the Dean's List), and obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2000 from Georgia State University College of Law. During law school, Mr. Kerenyi was on Moot Court and clerked for the Honorable Justice P. Harris Hines of The Supreme Court of Georgia. After being admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2000, Mr. Kerenyi began his career at HBS and has since practiced extensively in the areas of medical malpractice and personal injury litigation, and Intellectual Property/Entertainment law. Mr. Kerenyi also has experience in the areas of business litigation, retail liability, corporate formation, and appellate work. Prior to relocating to Atlanta in 1995, Mr. Kerenyi was a native of New York City, and had the good fortune to travel and see much of the world including North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Mr. Kerenyi has successfully represented corporations in a wide range of matters including business litigation and the defense of personal injury claims. Mr. Kerenyi's clients include Atlanta based Air Serv Corporation, a leading aviation industry support vendor serving over 50 airports, through the U.S. and U.K. 12.
Mr. Kerenyi has extensive transactional and litigation experience in trademark, copyright, and entertainment law. With his growing I.P. transactional and litigtion practice, he has developed expertise in assisting businesses and individuals with Intellectual Property ("I.P.") due diligence, protection of I.P. assets, trademark and copyright filings and appeals, I.P. dispute resolution and litigation, I.P. acquisitions, transactions, domain name due diligence; and related matters. Mr. Kerenyi has handled I.P. matters for numerous businesses, parternships and individuals across a wide variety of industries. He has represented media and entertainment companies, retailers, legal and medical practices and associations, insurance companies, health care companies, agri-businesses, e-commerce firms, fashion designers, non-profit organizations, artists and authors. Mr. Kerenyi has performed I.P. due diligence in multi-million dollar business transactions and provides support and guidance to help his client's develop, manage and protect, and exploit their I.P. portfolios. He has also represented individuals, start-ups, and small businesses in corporate entity formation and strategic planning.
Mr. Kerenyi has also developed a growing entertainment law practice cultivated from his own personal experiences as a working musician. Having spent more than fifteen years as a professional musician and songwriter, and having also worked several years for record labels including Sony Music, UK and Intersound Records, Mr. Kerenyi has first hand knowledge of the music business from the perspective of both the artist and the record companies. Mr. Kerenyi has represented artists, bands, producers, managers, and record labels in drafting, reviewing and negotiating various entertainment industry agreements and contracts, protecting and exploiting their I.P. and other commercial rights, and career/business development. Mr. Kerenyi is also the Vice President and one of the four founding board members of Songs For Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization based out of Atlanta that uses music to enrich the lives of kids-in-need at Children's Hospitals and special-needs kids camps throughout the U.S.
Mr. Kerenyi has successfully represented hospitals, physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, and other individual medical care providers in professional negligence lawsuits and state composite board hearings. In so doing, Mr. Kerenyi has acquired experience defending cases involving allegations of negligent care and treatment, negligent misdiagnosis, negligent referral, negligent misadministration of medication, surgical battery, and lack of consent. The factual circumstances of this casework has covered a wide array of medical issues including cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, internal medicine, obstetrics, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, pharmocology, plastic surgery, pulmonology, radiology, and wound care. He is the son of a physician.
