Originally from the hills of West Virginia, Brian relocated to the "Good Life City" of Albany, Georgia in 2002.   He attended West Virginia University, graduating cum laude in 1998 with a degree in Political Science.  He earned his law degree from West Virginia University in 2002, where he served on law review and was admitted to the Order of the Coif. 

Brian practices primarily in the areas of workers' compensation, premises liability, and auto liability defense.  He is admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals   Brian is also a registered mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. 

Outside of the office, Brian and his wife are the proud parents of three children. He is a member of Porterfield United Methodist Church, where he is actively involved multiple teaching ministries and mission programs.

Practice Areas

Alternative Dispute Resolution/Arbitration

Brian was trained in general civil mediation at the University of Georgia's J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development, and he is a registered mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.  By facilitating open and honest communication between the parties, while recognizing the motivating factors unique to each situation, Brian consistently provides a satisfying and worthwhile mediation experience.  By guiding the parties to their own unique solution, they leave the mediation feeling fully informed, completely engaged, and integrally invested in the outcome.

General Liability

Brian's practice also includes the defense of a wide variety of general liability claims, including auto liability claims, uninsured motorist claims, and premises liability actions.

Retail and Hospitality

Brian has extensive experience defending liability claims for retailers and property owners.  He has defended claims arising out of slip and falls, falling merchandise, product liability, negligent construction, and foodborne illness.

Workers’ Compensation

Brian has specialized in workers' compensation for more than a decade, defending employers and insurers throughout the State of Georgia.  He has successfully defended many of the Georgia's largest employer's before the State Board of Workers' Compensation at both the hearing and appellate levels, and he has participated in the favorable resolution of countless claims through mediation.  Brian's goal in handling your workers' compensation claim is to bring the claim to a quick and favorable resolution with the least amount of expense possible.
