Secretary of the Air Force has selected Brigadier General Robert L. Shannon, Jr., from  Georgia to the Air Reserve Forces Policy Committee (ARFPC).  The ARFPC is a Congressional mandate.  The Committee reviews and comments upon major policy matters directly affecting the reserve components and the mobilization preparedness of the Air Force to the Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Air Force.  General Shannon will serve on the ARFPC for three years.  General Shannon brings a great deal of experience with national security and strategic level issues.  He has served in various levels of command and was recently selected as the Air National Guard A-2 Assistant for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (Pentagon) and the dual hatted advisor to the Commander Air Force Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance Agency Headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio, TX. General Shannon has been with Hall Booth Smith for over 20 years and is the practice group leader for International Trade and Government Contracting.
