Elisabeth Avilla is an Associate who concentrates her practice on defending clients in a wide range of medical malpractice claims, liability lawsuits, health care and regulatory matters.
She represents hospitals, aging care facilities, correctional facilities, physician groups, doctors, nurses and other health care professionals in negligence and liability disputes, internal investigations, compliance and regulatory issues, and other routine business needs.
Before joining Hall Booth Smith, Elisabeth served as an extern for the Honorable Chief United States District Judge Mark Walker in Tallahassee, Florida. She was a summer associate at HBS in 2019, a student intern at the Children’s Advocacy Clinic of FSU Law, and an intern for the Honorable Lisa Davidson of the 18th Judicial Circuit in Florida.
Elisabeth earned a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law and ranked in the top 7% of her class. She was involved in the Moot Court Team, winning two Best Brief Awards and Second Place at national moot court competitions. During law school Elisabeth also served as Executive Editor of Volume 47 of the Florida State University Law Review. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, at the University of North Florida with a major in philosophy and a minor in political science.
