Beth McConnell is a Partner in the Asheville office of Hall Booth Smith. She has litigated personal injury actions, products liability actions, employment law issues and many significant issues before several state and federal courts in North Carolina. Her experience includes successful results for physician defendants, hospitals, nursing home clients, trucking companies and homeowners associations. She has appeared before various licensing boards on behalf of physicians and other licensed professionals. Ms. McConnell is routinely consulted by physicians, hospitals and nursing home facilities on matters of liability and risk management. She is licensed to appear before all North Carolina State Courts, Federal Courts of North Carolina (including Bankruptcy court), the United Stated Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Before joining HBS, Ms. McConnell was practicing as a founding partner of Northup, McConnell & Sizemore since 1999. Ms. McConnell received her B.A. from North Carolina State University and her J.D. from Wake Forest University Law School. She was first admitted to the North Carolina and Georgia Bars in 1985. After law school, she served for two years as a law clerk to the Honorable David B Sentelle, United States Federal Judge in the Western District of North Carolina, and practiced for over 12 years as a partner in a larger law firm in the Asheville area.

In her time away from work, Ms McConnell spends time with her family hiking the wilderness of Western North Carolina. She has a special interest is North Carolina wild flowers, along with the garden to prove it.
