Biography

Fred L. Hubbs is a Partner in Hall Booth Smith’s Atlanta office and is head of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice group. He is the past chair of the Workers' Compensation section of the Atlanta Bar of Georgia. Since 2008, Fred has served on the State Board’s Advisory Council, which proposes worker’s compensation legislation to the State Board and the Governor of Georgia each year.

Fred speaks at numerous seminars both around the state of Georgia and across the country. His client-focused approach to workers’ compensation cases includes constant contact to provide answers to questions and working through issues in a cost-efficient manner. He has won several notable awards for his legal accomplishments and is AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rated™ by Martindale-Hubbell, and he has been named Most Valuable Outside Counsel by the McDonald’s Corporation three times.

A recognized and respected thought leader on workers’ compensation issues, Fred regularly contributes blog articles about contemporary matters and precedent setting cases, such as laws related to illegal immigrants and social media use.

Fred earned a Juris Doctor from Atlanta Law School and completed his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University. When not practicing law, he enjoys playing recreational sports including golf and basketball as well as running.

Workers' Compensation

Fred specializes in the defense of workers’ compensation claims for employers, self-insureds, and insurance carriers throughout the state of Georgia. He has been an honored member of the American Trial Lawyer Association, as well as the Defense Research Institute under the Workers’ Compensation Section.

Fred has been appointed to serve on the Chairman of the State Board’s Advisory Council for Workers’ Compensation. Three times, he has been awarded Most Valuable Outside Counsel by the McDonald’s Corporation. Fred works diligently to ensure the best possible outcome for his clients while surpassing their high expectations.
