Hank Pittman is a Partner in our office in Tifton, Georgia, and he concentrates his practice on transportation, education, government, general liability, agribusiness and food, and medical malpractice.
Early in his career, Hank served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Atlantic Judicial Circuit and handled a variety of legal matters. In 1997, he returned to his hometown of Tifton to join Reinhardt Whitley and Wilmot P.C., and he was made a partner four years later. He practiced in a wide range of areas including criminal defense, domestic relations, business law, real estate, probate, local government, banking, medical malpractice, insurance defense, transportation, education, and eminent domain.
In recent years, he has focused his practice on education, eminent domain, business litigation, transportation and insurance defense. His expansive and diverse education practice includes open meetings, open records, special education, student privacy, FERPA, teacher and administrator contracts, student and staff civil rights, student discipline, board ethics, establishment of a College and Career Academy, conversion to a Charter System, passage of a SPLOST, redrawing attendance zones, and school board governance.
Hank has also represented agricultural businesses that process and market crops and businesses that manufacture agricultural equipment. He also has a robust practice in representing family farmers. His government work includes representing the Georgia Department of Transportation and utilities on eminent domain and related matters.
Hank earned a Juris Doctor from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Georgia. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Tifton Bar Association.
