Biography

Brown Moseley joined Hall Booth Smith after serving as elected District Attorney for the South Georgia Judicial Circuit. In twenty-five years as a prosecutor, he has tried more than 250 cases in five counties. He was named “District Attorney of the Year” in 1995 and received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2004. Brown served on the Georgia Prosecuting Attorney’s Council and has served one term on the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors.

General Liability

Brown’s practice includes the defense of general liability, particularly vehicle liability, uninsured motorist, and premises liability claims. Brown has represented numerous commercial truck drivers in Georgia State Patrol SCRT investigations and state court charges.



Government Affairs

Brown served as county attorney for Decatur County for ten years, and he also represents the City of Attapulgus, Georgia, as city attorney. State law changes every year after the state legislature adjourns for the Session. Local governments invariably are affected by legislative changes and must be prepared to implement those necessary requirements of state regulatory agencies and unfunded mandates.



Governmental Liability

Brown Moseley’s experience as District Attorney as well as his term on the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors has enhanced his personal understanding of the laws of the state of Georgia. Brown Moseley advises governmental entities and officials regarding various claims including allegations of sexual harassment, racial discrimination, law enforcement issues, wrongful arrest, and search and seizure claims including both wrongful arrest and violation of property rights.

His more than twenty-five years of experience dealing with criminal cases in the court room gives him exceptional knowledge of the criminal court system, and he has used this expertise to represent a limited number of criminal cases.
