Kellie Llona is an Associate in our Tampa office, and she concentrates her practice on general liability, medical malpractice defense and aging services.

Before joining Hall Booth Smith, Kellie worked in the felony division of the Office of the State Attorney, 13th Judicial Circuit, where she represented the State of Florida and independently managed more than 300 cases at a time. She served as first chair in over 20 jury and bench trials and defended dozens of depositions.

She began her legal career at Legal Aid Service of Broward County as a Justice AmeriCorps Attorney under a program started by President Barack Obama to assist unaccompanied migrant children facing deportation and later represented immigrants before The Executive Office for Immigration Review at a Florida law firm. Her representation of unaccompanied migrant children led her to the Department of Children and Families. As a senior attorney she represented the Department in termination of parental rights proceedings before transitioning to criminal prosecution.

Kellie earned a Juris Doctor degree from Barry University School of Law, and participated in the juvenile law clinic and served as a Student Bar Association Senator and Secretary of the Hispanic American Law Student Association. She also completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Florida. She is fluent in Spanish.
