Laura Terry is a Legal Nurse Consultant in our office in Birmingham, Alabama, and she specializes in medical malpractice and products liability matters.

She has more than 15 years of experience as a legal nurse consultant, and earlier in her career she was a pediatric nurse, a critical care nurse, an emergency room nurse and a nurse in the intensive care unit. She was a patient safety coordinator, and oversaw infection control and employee health before transitioning to become a nurse paralegal.

Laura earned a registered nursing degree from Calhoun College and an advanced degree from University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama. She has given numerous presentations on legal aspects for nurses, and served as an advisor on readiness for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and assisted hospitals and other healthcare facilities with their JCAHO inspections in Alabama, Mississippi and Hawaii.

Laura is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, the Courtland Revitalization Committee, Courtland Community Development and Church of Highlands. She is a former member of the Courtland City district representative, mayor pro-tem; former president of the North Alabama Infection Control chapter; grief counselor and an instructor on advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

She lives in the historic north Alabama town of Courtland with her husband Bobby.
