Mina Zhan is an Associate in the Atlanta office of Hall Booth Smith, with a focus on corporate law and international businesses, intellectual property and business litigation.

Mina earned a Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law, where she served as the Vice President of the Emory International Anti-Corruption Law Society and the Secretary of the Emory Oil, Gas and Energy Law Society. Along with her study at Emory, Mina also worked as an extern at the Georgia Legal Service Program and a judicial intern for the Hon. Judge Andrea Darvas in King County Superior Court in Seattle, Washington.

She completed a LL.M. in Commercial Law from the University of Bristol in Bristol, England, and obtained a LL.B. from the South China Normal University in Guangzhou, China. She practiced in Corporate Law and Intellectual Property Law in China, during which she counseled international companies with business formation and compliance, IP portfolio management and brand protection.

Prior to joining HBS in 2018, she practiced in Atlanta for business dispute resolution, restrictive covenant, employment law, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claims and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) litigation.

Mina is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English and is admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia, the Northern District of Georgia and the People’s Republic of China. She is an active member in Atlanta local Asian professional associations including the Georgia Asian Pacific Bar Association and the National Association of Chinese-Americans.

EXPERIENCE

Mina’s practice is focused on corporate law and international businesses, intellectual property and business litigation. She counsels clients through a variety of cross-border needs such as establishing new business entities abroad or assisting foreign companies in starting operations in the United States. She also works on transactions and the full spectrum of business litigation matters.
