With more than four decades of experience, Kevin Harrington focuses his practice on civil litigation and insurance defense matters. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has defended clients in complex negligence, personal injury, and professional liability cases throughout New Jersey.
Before joining Hall Booth Smith, Kevin co-founded and led several successful law firms, including Catania and Harrington and later Harrington and Lombardi, LLP, where he maintained an active negligence defense practice. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant Prosecutor and Special Deputy Attorney General for Passaic County and clerked for the Honorable Thomas R. Rumana of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division.
Kevin has been certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney since 1986 and has earned numerous professional recognitions throughout his career. For 20 consecutive years, he has been named among New Jersey Super Lawyers in negligence defense and was featured in Who’s Who in American Law. He has also received a Distinguished rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting his high ethical standards and legal ability.
In addition to his practice, Kevin is deeply involved in advancing the legal profession. He is a past President of the Passaic County Bar Association and a Master of the Robert L. Clifford American Inn of Court, where he frequently lectures on civil litigation topics. He also serves as an instructor for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, teaching courses on civil trial preparation and litigation strategy. His commitment to professionalism has been recognized with the New Jersey State Bar Association Professionalism Award and the Passaic County Distinguished Civil Practitioner Award. Kevin has also served as a member of the ethics committee and prior chair of the fee arbitration committee.
Kevin earned his Juris Doctor from New England Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from Niagara University, where he was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.
