Katherine Dandy is Of Counsel in our Charlotte office. With over twenty-five years of experience, she defends clients in litigation involving medical malpractice, general liability matters, and business disputes.
Before relocating with her family to North Carolina, Kathy had a long career as a litigator in New York. She spent her first five years after law school in the trenches as a public defender, learning valuable trial and negotiation skills, before transitioning into civil litigation. Since then, she has developed a diverse litigation practice, representing physicians and other health care providers in medical malpractice actions and business entities in a wide variety of commercial disputes.
An accomplished writer, Kathy has prevailed on numerous summary judgment motions and appeals before state and federal courts. Appellate advocacy requires a unique skill set, one that emphasizes the ability to analyze and understand subtle legal distinctions, conduct careful and focused research, and provide persuasive written and oral presentations to a sophisticated appellate court.
Katherine earned her Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University in New York City, and she also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
Outside of the office, Kathy enjoys baking bread, cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband, their two children, and their corgi, Luna.
