Kyler S. Garmen is a Partner in our Memphis office, practicing civil litigation in state and federal courts. He protects businesses, governments, and individuals during complex litigation. Kyler has extensive experience litigating high-exposure business disputes, construction cases, general liability claims, medical malpractice actions, and product liability matters. He has been a part of the defense team for numerous Fortune 500 global brands or their subsidiaries, as well as smaller businesses.
Kyler also defends individuals, such as accountants, architects, physicians, and engineers, against allegations of professional malpractice. He works closely with each client to ensure that the legal strategy aligns with their broader goals, while tactically resolving each matter effectively and efficiently. Kyler is a zealous and aggressive advocate on behalf of his clients.
He currently serves part-time as a Judge Advocate with the United States Army Reserve. He provides a wide range of legal services to support combat-ready units and Soldiers. Kyler’s experience includes advising a Commanding General and subordinate commanders regarding issues of military justice, administrative law, contract/fiscal law, and labor law. He has also counseled individual Soldiers on personal matters, such as wills, trusts, healthcare directives, among others.
Kyler earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. In his second year, he won the Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Competition and was awarded the Best Written Brief and Best Oralist honors. He also completed a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, from Middle Tennessee State University. During his studies, he achieved his instrument-rated private pilot’s license.
