Hall Booth Smith Sponsors and Attends World Trade Day
Hall Booth Smith was a proud sponsor of the World Trade Day on May 2nd, along with Of Counsel John Parkerson attending the event. In 1935, FDR officially proclaimed that each May there should be a national observance of the benefits of global trade and investment. Georgia’s Governor Nathan Deal, in a Proclamation, declared May 2 as World Trade Day in the State of Georgia; and the World Trade Center Atlanta recognized that event by organizing the 1st Annual World Trade Day in Georgia, which yesterday convened CEOs, policy-makers, scholars, and other thought leaders to discuss our most pressing international trade and investment issues.
Global trade’s economic impact within Georgia is clear: according to recent data, Georgia ranks as the 11th largest exporting and 7th largest importing state in the U.S. In fact, in 2016, total trade between Georgia and the world exceeded $121.7 billion and exports surpassed $35.5 billion.
Hall Booth Smith was in good company, as the photos from the program illustrate, in sponsoring the event. HBS’s International Practice and International Trade Groups offer experienced business counsel for global companies of all sizes by assisting U.S. based clients, as well as foreign clients that conduct business in the U.S., in cross-border legal matters involving U.S. laws and the laws of foreign countries.
