Attorney Senator Michael S. Meyer von Bremen Selected for Robert Benham Award

ALBANY, GA – Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) is pleased to announce that Senator Michael S. Meyer von Bremen has been named a recipient of the Thirteenth Annual Robert Benham Award for Community Service. The Award recognizes outstanding attorneys who have balanced a professional career with extensive community involvement. Recipients of the award demonstrate the positive contributions that members of the Bar make to their communities.  A ceremony to honor Senator Meyer von Bremen and the rest of this year’s recipients will be held February 28th at the headquarters of the State Bar of Georgia.

Recipients of the award are selected by the Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism in conjunction with the State Bar of Georgia. Judges and lawyers are considered for the award if they have maintained a professional career with exemplary voluntary participation in community organizations, government-sponsored activities, or humanitarian work.

Senator Meyer von Bremen is a partner in HBS’s Albany office and boasts a well-rounded practice with a wealth of experience as a litigator. He has served in the state senate representing a large portion of Southwest Georgia for five terms. He served as Chairman of the Senate Special Judiciary Committee, the Senate Minority Leader, and Chairman of the Ethics Committee. He has also represented Georgia in committee work for the National Council of State Legislators.
