Andrew A. Murdison
Biography
Andrew A. Murdison is Of Counsel in our Augusta office, focusing on business litigation, general liability, and medical malpractice matters.
Prior to joining HBS, Andrew had his own firm where his practice consisted of civil litigation, business advising and corporate work, and family law. During this time, he also served as a special assistant attorney general representing the Departments of Family and Children Services in Richmond, Burke, and Columbia Counties as well as a part-time assistant solicitor general, prosecuting misdemeanor offenses in the State Court of Richmond County.
Before establishing his firm, Andrew worked as a partner with a local firm, where he managed and assisted with a variety of civil litigation matters in the areas of medical malpractice, compliance and board investigations, business litigation, and insurance defense. He began his legal career as an associate practicing general civil defense, medical malpractice defense, business litigation, healthcare regulatory defense, and advising. Andrew also assisted in the defense of a major railroad, in which he litigated a multi-year federal case brought under the Clean Water Act and drafted numerous successful motions, including a motion for summary judgment that was granted.
Andrew earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia, cum laude, where he was active as an executive articles editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum honoribus, in Classics and Philosophy from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
