Hall Booth Smith Names Eight New Partners

ATLANTA – Hall Booth Smith, P.C. is pleased to announce that it has named eight new partners, bringing the firm-wide total to 98.
“We are delighted to welcome these talented professionals as new partners, ” said Alex Booth, managing partner of HBS. “They bring valuable experience and total dedication to our client projects and will help us to continue expanding our practice both regionally and nationally.”
Doug Ammerman is a partner in our Atlanta office. His practice is focused on professional negligence, medical malpractice and dental litigation and trial. Ammerman earned his LL.M. postgraduate degree from Temple University School of Law after completing his J.D. at Western Michigan University and his B.S. at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Russell Britt is a partner in our Atlanta office. He specializes in governmental liability and local government law, and has extensive experience representing local government entities including counties, municipalities, and school districts throughout Georgia. Britt earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgia State University College of Law where he served on the Georgia State Law Review as Legislative Associate Editor and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Britt received his B.A. from the University of Georgia, cum laude.
Ashley Heslop is a partner in our office in Charleston, South Carolina. She has been practicing in the area of professional liability defense for more than 14 years. Heslop received her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and her B.A. from Wofford College. Since 2014, she has been named one of Super Lawyers Rising Stars in Medical Malpractice Defense. She is presently serving a second term as chairperson of the School Improvement Council (SIC) at her youngest daughter’s elementary school.
Justin Kerenyi is a partner in our Atlanta office. His practice encompasses a broad range of litigation, transactional, and intellectual property work. Kerenyi is the Secretary and one of four founding board members of Songs For Kids Foundation, Inc., a 10-year-old Atlanta based non-profit that provides thousands of music programs annually to underprivileged children across five states. He obtained his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court and awarded special recognitions. Kerenyi earned his B.A. from Cornell University.
Andrew Knowlton is a partner in our office in Birmingham, Alabama. He focuses his litigation practice on the defense of physicians, nurses, hospitals, and other healthcare providers as well as personal injury and wrongful death claims. He received his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he was the recipient of the Scholar of Merit Award in Advanced Skills in Trial Advocacy. He attended Auburn University where he received his B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude.
Robert Middleton is a partner in our office in Albany, Georgia. He is the head of the firm’s Energy, Regulatory and Utilities practice group. In addition, he is a member of the firm’s agriculture, business litigation, government affairs and transactional practice groups. Middleton obtained both his B.A. and his J.D. from the University of Georgia. During law school, he was a member of the American Bar Association National Client Counseling Team, the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity and he competed in the Appellate Practice Tallmadge and Russell Competition.
Erin Young is a partner in our office in Charlotte, North Carolina. Young has more than 17 years of experience representing healthcare providers, corporations, non-profit organizations and insurance companies in litigation involving claims of professional negligence and general liability. Young received her B.A. in English and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She attended the University of North Carolina School of Law for her J.D. Young was a 2015 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year Candidate and was recognized as a North Carolina Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2012 and 2013.
David Younker is a partner in our Atlanta office. He specializes in civil litigation matters and possesses extensive trial experience. He regularly handles various types of civil matters including medical malpractice, retail liability, business litigation, premises liability, environmental, general liability, appellate and coverage matters. He received his J.D. from the University of Georgia Law School after receiving both a B.A. in Political Science and a M.Ed. focused on Social Sciences. While in school, Younker was a member of both the Moot Court and Mock Trial.
