HBS Promotes Juanita Kendall to Chief Human Resources Officer
Hall Booth Smith, P.C. has promoted human resources leader Juanita Kendall to Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) as she takes on increasingly complex duties in advancing the firm’s talent development and supporting its national growth.
Juanita’s Background
Juanita joined HBS in 2018, and quickly made an impact on the firm’s recruiting, career development, performance management, and other core human resources functions. She also supports the firm in strategic planning and expansion as it opens new offices and hires more attorneys.
Juanita is a leader who supports the needs and career journeys of employees and helps the firm achieve its mission and growth objectives. She applies her two decades of HR knowledge and experience to advance organizational change, manage and implement large-scale initiatives, strengthen processes, and enhance efficiencies for HBS, which now has almost 400 attorneys and 29 offices in 12 states.
“Juanita has made countless contributions to HBS’s growth and success as we become an employer of choice known for investing in our people,” said Alex Booth, managing partner of Hall Booth Smith. “She is a dedicated leader who helps us recruit top talent and create rewarding and fulfilling pathways for attorneys, paralegals, and support staff at all stages of their careers.”
Elevating Juanita to the CHRO role recognizes the increased responsibilities she has taken on since joining HBS, including talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee training, and numerous strategies, policies, and procedures that enhance the firm’s HR functions.
Earlier in her career, Juanita was Director of Human Resources for a health care network through Columbia University Medical Center 61st Street Service Corporation. In that role, she provided the strategic plan for HR operations and initiatives in support of 1800 employees.
Juanita earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration & Human Resources from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and holds certifications for the Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
“Supporting HBS’s growth as well as the individual careers of our employees is one of the greatest joys and successes of my career, and I’m honored to continue advocating for HBS as one of the fastest-growing firms in the Southeast,” Juanita said.
