HBS Names Kevin Ladd Chief Information Officer to Support Firm’s Growth
Hall Booth Smith has named highly experienced information technology executive Kevin C. Ladd to the newly created position of Chief Information Officer to oversee a transformation of the firm’s technology organization and support its growth.
Kevin has more than 20 years of experience in running and maturing IT infrastructures and architectures to create business value, including security and access, managing risk, on-premise and cloud, data centers, and long-term strategic road mapping for organizational strength and resiliency. Earlier in his career, he was Executive IT Director of Infrastructure Planning and Implementation for automotive parts supplier Tenneco in Michigan. He was previously a Senior IT Architect for gas station and convenience chain RaceTrac in Atlanta, and Vice President of IT Operations at human resources services company Sterling Talent Solutions in Atlanta.
Kevin has overseen complex, dispersed IT organizations that support numerous physical locations, and he has led teams with 30 employees while overseeing multi-million-dollar IT budgets that include multiple third-party managed solutions.
In his new role as CIO of HBS, Kevin will bring a metrics-driven approach to continuous improvement and strengthening of IT service offerings for HBS internally as well as for client-facing solutions. His team will focus on secure, stable, and scalable IT processes and technology as HBS continues to grow, expand to new locations, hire new attorneys and support staff, and add legal service offerings to meet the evolving needs of clients across the nation.

Kevin began his IT career more than two decades ago, and he has run all aspects of IT, including infrastructure, application development, databases, data centers, servers and storage, cloud migration and cloud connectivity, security, network telecommunications, service desk, multi-tenant web hosting environments, internal desktop support, and 24×7 monitoring and support.
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and he holds numerous technical credentials and certifications from AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, Lotus, CompTIA, Citrix, VMware, LANDesk, ITIL, SAN Storage, and Project Management.
