Mariel Williams Chosen as President of the Columbus Chapter of Georgia Association for Women Lawyers
On June 7, 2012, Mariel Williams, an associate in the HBS Columbus office, was sworn in as the new President of the Columbus Chapter of Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) during the chapter’s Judicial Reception. Mariel had served as the chapter’s secretary since 2009. Mariel said in her speech that it is important to become involved not only for the satisfaction of personal accomplishment but also for the betterment of our profession.
Mariel has had a exceptionally eventful legal career. Mariel has served as Treasurer of the Columbus Bar Association since 2009 and has been a member of the Chapter of the Young Lawyers Division since 2010. In 2011, Mariel became an associate of the Columbus American Inn of Court.
HBS would like to congratulate Mariel for receiving this position. This honor recognizes the outstanding legal work performed by HBS attorneys and bolsters the firm’s reputation as a leading law firm in the Columbus area.
