Patrick Millsaps of HBS launches Nationwide Talent Management Firm

Georgia-based Patrick Millsaps has joined forces with California-based Adam Trahan  (formerly of Artist International) at HBS Management, LLC.,  a full service management company that will encompass offices coast to coast in Century City, Atlanta and Nashville (headed by Karl Braun for the music side). The company’s nationwide presence will bring new opportunities for its clients. “We’re filling a need for our talent based not only in the traditional media markets of LA and NY, but also the expanding Southeast market. Having locations ranging from LA to the Southeast and East coast was a ‘no-brainer’ when considering the entertainment industry’s growing geographical diversity and our client’s immediate and long term needs,” says Trahan.
With a unique background as both a lawyer and the Chief of Staff for a Presidential Campaign, Millsaps brings his expertise in business to the company.  “I am taking the experience of heading a national presidential campaign and using those tactics and strategies to brand each of our clients in the ever-growing entertainment business and emerging media markets.  Our goal is to build an individual brand for each one of our clients that is valuable to them across media platforms- not only film and television,” Millsaps explains.
Millsaps has an impressive track record for creating moneymaking opportunities in the entertainment industry.  Explains Former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue-who signed Georgia’s first movie tax credits law that began the film and television boom in that state—“Patrick Millsaps understood early the benefits for Georgia aggressively pursuing the entertainment industry as an economic development project.  The combination of his business, political and legal skills were helpful in making tax credits a reality in Georgia.”  More recently he orchestrated Stacey Dash’s deal to be a contributor at Fox News—the first such deal for any news network with a working actor.  Millsaps’ roster now boasts many working TV and film talent including Chelsea Cardwell, whom has recurred heavily in all three seasons of the hit Cinemax series Banshee and Jaclyn Hales (co-managed with Trahan before their merger), whom just wrapped the feature Stuck opposite Patrick Stewart and Cheryl Hines.
Trahan built the talent department of Artist International, which, prior to his hiring two years ago, had specialized in literary clients only.  Deals Trahan has orchestrated for their clients include attaching Mischa Barton to portray Jean Harlow in her authorized biopic, booking Lyndie Greenwood as a series regular on FOX’s hit series Sleepy Hollow, and booking Ben Reed a breakout role in Clint Eastwood’s upcoming feature American Sniper.
Millsaps and Trahan are also working to finance projects.  With Millsaps connections outside the traditional Hollywood investors, he was able to help finalize funding in only four hours for the independent film, I’ll See You In My Dreams (which he produced with Trahan) starring Blythe Danner, Malin Akerman, Martin Starr, Sam Elliott, Rhea Perlman and June Squibb.
