Matthew B. Balcer
Biography
Matt Balcer is an Associate in our office in Brunswick, Georgia. He focuses his practice on a variety of complex commercial litigation matters as well as pharmaceutical, environmental, and regulatory health care issues. Matt has handled complex and varying matters throughout all phases of litigation, including appeals to the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Eleventh Circuit.
He was previously a law clerk at Hall Booth Smith, where he assisted in legal research and trial preparation. Earlier in his career, he clerked at law firms in Macon and Atlanta, and he served as a fellow at the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys.
Matt earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. During law school, he served as President of Phi Delta Phi honor society, the Administrative Editor for the Mercer Law Review, and a member of the negotiations competition team. He also received CALI Awards in Health Care Law, Legal Writing, and Legal Research, and upon graduation, he was selected as an Outstanding Solicitor for excellence in negotiation and client counseling. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi.
