HBS Welcomes Attorneys Christopher Fairchild and Sam Sykes

Christopher Fairchild joins as an associate in the Atlanta office. Mr. Fairchild earned his Juris Doctorate from Georgia State in 2013, where he was the Philanthropy Chair of Oglethorpe Legal Society. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia. While receiving his degree he served as an officer in the UGA sports business club. Mr. Fairchild’s previous work in real estate, construction and family law litigation give him broad-based civil litigation experience. Prior to working in the legal field, he worked within financial industry.

Sam Sykes joins as an associate in the Atlanta office. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. While in law school, he received six CALI Awards for Academic Excellence and was a Sara and Michael Salomon Prize Award Recipient. He was active in the Student Bar Association, serving as secretary and 2 years as a class representative. He was also an Office of Academic Achievement Fellow from 2012-2014. Mr. Sykes received his B.A. in Political Science from Southern Methodist University. Before moving into civil practice, Mr. Sykes served as an Assistant Solicitor-General in the State Court of Gwinnett County. He has successfully prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, solo-chaired multiple jury trials from voir dire to verdict, tried several bench trials, argued motions on behalf of the State, and negotiated a multitude of plea agreements.
