HBS Welcomes Attorneys Jodi Barrett, Dana Brubaker, and Allen Orr

Hall Booth Smith is pleased to welcome Jodi Barrett as Of Counsel in the North Palm Beach Office, Dana Brubaker as Of Counsel in the Atlanta Office, and Allen Orr as an Associate in the Athens Office.
Jodi Barrett joins HBS as Of Counsel in the North Palm Beach office. She has represented professionals including lawyers, health care providers and appraisers in complex litigation, handling all aspects of litigation through trial and appeals. She has provided counsel to employers in civil suits and before federal and state agencies including OSHA and EEOC. She also has experience representing companies on general counsel matters, including transactional and regulatory matters. Ms. Barrett is an AV rated attorney, who is involved in the American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, Palm Beach County Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyer’s Association, and Defense Research Institute. She received her J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law.
Dana Brubaker, Of Counsel in the Atlanta office, specializes her practice in all areas of medical malpractice litigation and personal injury defense. She has defended doctors and hospitals in professional liability matters and has assisted physicians in OPMC proceedings. Ms. Brubaker has particular expertise in defending hospitals and hospital personnel, including attendings, residents and nurses, in a variety of lawsuits involving emergency room care, obstetrics and gynecology, surgery, neonatology and neurology. She has spoken at several hospital grand rounds pertaining to increasing trends in malpractice actions, state investigations and professional discipline. Prior to joining Martin Clearwater & Bell, LLP, where she was a Partner, Ms. Brubaker was an Assistant District Attorney at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office and a Special Assistant United States District Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of New York where she handled various investigations including health care fraud and RICO cases. She also supervised long-term investigations and successfully prosecuted cases from inception through trial.
Allen Orr joins HBS as an Associate in the Athens office. Mr. Orr earned his J.D. in 2013 from the Wake Forest University School of Law, where he served as the managing editor of the Wake Forest Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law. Prior to joining HBS, Mr. Orr practiced with Johnson Marlowe LLP in Athens, representing corporate and individual clients in business disputes, estate litigation, and commercial loan workouts.
