Richard Sheinis of HBS Moderates Executive Sustainability Roundtable
Atlanta, November 17, 2011 – Richard Sheinis, a partner with Hall Booth Smith (HBS) moderated a roundtable of Business to Business Magazine’s Atlanta Executive Sustainability Roundtable. HBS was the exclusive legal sponsor of the event held on November 17th at the Georgia-Pacific Auditorium.
The roundtable included Kate Brass, Ecomagination Program Manager at GE Energy; Jim Hartzfeld, Managing Director at InterfaceRAISE; Bill Frerking, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Georgia Pacific; and Scott Wicker, Vice President of Corporate Plant Engineering and Chief Sustainability Officer at UPS.
The discussion focused upon how sustainability is affecting companies and its growing importance for successful businesses and corporations. The presenters explained the financial and non-financial benefits of successful sustainability strategies. In addition they offered their personal experiences with implementing these strategies at their respective companies. Finally, the speakers offered their prediction on the role of sustainability strategies in the future and the impact that they will have on businesses and corporations.
HBS’s sponsorship of this event is another symbol of the firm’s strong commitment to sustainability. The firm is committed to being at the forefront of key issues surrounding emerging green technologies and the environment. HBS recently established the Clean Technology and Sustainability task force to assist new and established companies in resolving issues in the continuously evolving legal landscape surrounding green technology and environmental sustainability.
Mr. Sheinis proved to be a capable and qualified moderator. He currently leads HBS’s Clean Technology and Sustainability task force. In addition, Mr. Sheinis is a member of the American Wind Energy Association, the Georgia Solar Energy Association, and the Clean Tech Committee of the American-Israeli Chamber of Commerce. He is also certified as a LEED Green Associate.
