HBS’s Brent Allen Named to Jacksonville Downtown Development Review Board

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA –Hall Booth Smith, P.C. congratulates Partner  J. Brent Allen  in being appointed to the Board of Directors for the Downtown Development Review Board in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry appointed Allen to the post, and he was confirmed by the City Council yesterday. The Downtown Development Review Board is responsible for reviewing and approving proposed projects to ensure compliance with the Downtown Master Plan and the Downtown Zoning Overlay through a collaborative approach between the public and private sectors.

“It is an honor to serve on the Downtown Development Review Board, and I look forward to working alongside city officials and private sector leaders in preserving the unique character that makes Jacksonville such a terrific city,” said Allen, who is a Jacksonville native and active member of the community.

Allen previously served on the Jacksonville Housing Authority Board of Directors under appointment by the Mayor, and he holds leadership and fundraising roles with The Boy Scouts of America. He is also active in The Rotary Club of Jacksonville Downtown, The Florida Bar and The Jacksonville Bar Association.

Allen is the Managing Partner of Hall Booth Smith’s Jacksonville office, and co-chair of the firm’s Opioid Defense Task Force with a long career of civil trial defense work. He earned a Juris Doctorate, with honors, from Florida Coastal School of Law and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Auburn University. He lives in Jacksonville with his wife, daughter and son.
