David Sapp
Biography
David Sapp is a trial attorney with over 30 years’ experience primarily in defense of civil cases. He has defended cases involving professional negligence including representation of physicians and health care facilities in defense of medical malpractice claims, product liability defense, personal injury, property damage, insurance coverage litigation.
David has served as lead counsel in numerous medical malpractice cases in defense of physicians, nurses, hospitals and home health care facilities through summary judgment, mediation resolution, and/or trial. He represents corporations and individuals involved in employment related disputes, including breach of non-solicitation/non-compete agreements.
He has served as lead counsel in the defense of over 35 toxic tort actions involving claims for personal injury, cancer, fear of disease, asbestosis, medical monitoring/screening, and property damage. He has also advised various clients including insurance carriers and individuals in determining rights and obligations under CGL insurance policies for property damage.
Upon graduation from the University of Georgia’s Lumpkin School of Law in 1983, David served as law clerk to the Honorable Marvin Hartley, Superior Court Judge for the Middle Judicial Circuit, and as a staff law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
He began practicing law in 1986 with Long, Weinberg, Ansley & Wheeler becoming partner in 1990. David’s practice focused on defense of multiple environmental toxic tort cases which included hundreds of personal injury and property damage claims as well as medical monitoring claims under various federal environmental statutes.
In 1995 David commenced representation of medical care providers including doctors, nurses, and hospitals in defense of medical negligence claims, a practice which he continues today. He has also served as managing partner at two other law firms.
