1980

Rush Smith and Alex Booth begin practicing law together with a shared vision: serving to achieve excellence.

1984

John Hall, joins the firm and soon after in 1989 Hall Booth Smith was born… it quickly earned a reputation for successful litigation and personalized service.

1998

HBS creates a strategic plan that includes geographic expansion and many new practice areas. The firm also begins a longtime commitment to supporting the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

1999

HBS opens its first regional office in Tifton, Georgia, to better serve clients throughout the state.

2000

HBS adds an office in Brunswick, Georgia.

2001

The USLAW NETWORK was established and John Hall leads the firm’s membership into this powerful multi-state organization of independent civil litigation firms.

2002

HBS add an office in Albany, Georgia.

2002

Hello Music City! The firm opens an office in Nashville.

2003

HBS opens an office in Athens, Georgia.

2008

HBS adds an office in Columbus, Georgia

2009

New office opens in Charleston, South Carolina.

2010

Hall Booth Smith relocates its Atlanta headquarters to Downtown’s iconic 191 Peachtree tower, a 50-story building capped with twin Acropolis-style crowns that are illuminated at night.

2011

HBS opens an office in Tbilisi, becoming the first U.S. law firm with a significant presence in the country of Georgia.

2013

The Sunshine State beckons, and HBS opens a new office in North Palm Beach, Florida.

2015

The firm adds offices in Memphis, Tennessee, and Charlotte, North Carolina.

2016

A new office in Birmingham, Alabama, becomes HBS’s 13th location.

2017

The firm adds offices in Jacksonville, Florida, and Asheville, North Carolina.

2018

The firm opens office in Tallahassee.

2019

The firm opens office in ST. Petersburg, Florida
