Biography

Becky Hewitt started her career in the healthcare industry over 23 years ago and knows first-hand the important role that skilled nursing facilities, as well as ALF and other providers play in our nation’s healthcare system. Her passion to ensure that America’s most defenseless and frail population receive the healthcare services they need drives her dedication to change the narrative for this industry.

As the Director of Healthcare Policy and Reimbursement, Becky collaborates with our clients and healthcare associations across the Southeast to assist in the development of healthcare strategies and to advocate for positive change to existing reimbursement policies. She actively seeks out innovative and effective solutions for Medicaid reimbursement and payment. She offers strategic, and practical guidance to these organizations, drawing from her experience in the healthcare and legal realms. Working closely with our HBS Government Affairs team and Aging Services attorneys and lobbyists, she effectively advocates for change and reform within the healthcare reimbursement sector.

Since joining the firm in 2011, Becky has been instrumental in helping providers across the country with Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement, successfully recovering millions of dollars annually in revenue. Becky is widely acknowledged as a Medicaid expert within the long-term care industry across several states in the Southeast region. She conducts onsite audits and provides education to our clients on financial best practices and Medicaid policies to give providers the tools they need to improve their cash velocity that allows them to better serve those they care for.
