W. Clark Goodman
Biography
Clark Goodman, partner in our Charlotte office, is an experienced litigation attorney and business advisor with over 25 years of experience representing organizations and individuals in complex litigation and arbitration.
His practice has included complex commercial disputes, from royalty claims under IP licensing agreements to trade secret misappropriation, unfair trade practices, business dissolutions, and corporate control disputes; representing local and state governmental bodies and public officials in constitutional challenges, civil rights suits, contract disputes, and employment retaliation claims; defending insurance coverage and bad faith claims; defending personal injury and property damage claims, including environmental and toxic tort exposure claims; and representing financial service institutions in multi-jurisdictional litigation and related investigations arising out of origination and servicing practices.
Prior to joining HBS, Clark served as a firm leader at an AmLaw 100 firm, where he was a member of the firm management committee, office managing partner, office litigation team leader, and budget committee chair. He is also an adjunct professor on Domestic and International Arbitration at Wake Forest School of Law.
Clark earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, at Harvard Law School and his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in English and Spanish from Duke University.
