Frances G. Prockop
Biography
Frances G. Prockop is a Partner in our Tampa office with nearly four decades of legal experience. She specializes in medical malpractice defense and health care litigation and draws on her previous experience as a plaintiff attorney when developing strategy and defending cases in the courtroom. She handles dental malpractice matters representing dentists, physicians, and other health care providers before the Department of Health and professional boards. She also defends clients in general liability and premises liability matters.
Fran represents hospitals, urgent care centers, physician groups, pharmacies, and other health care providers in a wide range of negligence and liability claims including high-exposure cases such as traumatic injury.
Earlier in her career, Fran practiced nursing at a major regional hospital and continued working as a nurse while attending law school. She also directed the risk management department at Tampa General Hospital. Her first-hand experience and knowledge of the pressure and stress health care professionals face during every patient encounter help inform her law practice and her approach to defending and resolving cases.
Fran earned a Juris Doctor from Stetson University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University.
