Biography

Lisa M. Munoz is a Partner in our office in West Palm Beach, Florida, and she concentrates her practice on catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, personal injury, premises liability, aging services, and automobile negligence and other transportation-related claims.

She also has extensive experience representing mental health facilities in wrongful Baker Act matters for temporary detention related to emergency mental health matters, employment discrimination, and medical malpractice actions.

She often counsels clients in breach of contract and discrimination/wage cases filed in federal court and has represented facilities and health care providers in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Agency for Health Care Administration, and Department of Health matters.

Earlier in her career, Lisa represented both plaintiffs and defendants in premise liability, general liability, and personal injury cases, which gives her valuable insight into the strategies and tactics of attorneys on both sides of litigation.

Lisa earned a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas School of Law, where she was involved in Moot Court and served as Secretary of the Student Government Leadership. While in law school, she interned at the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office, where she was a certified legal intern and tried numerous criminal cases. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in both Criminology and Philosophy at Florida State University.

Lisa is a past board member of the Palm Beach County Justice Association, and she previously was a member of the Hispanic Bar Association and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. She has also been a member of The Craig S. Barnard American Inns of Court.

She is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Experience

Lisa brings extensive experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, general liability, automobile negligence, and other transportation litigation. She has represented numerous mental health facilities in wrongful detention matters under the Baker Act as well as medical malpractice claims, employment discrimination matters, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Agency for Health Care Administration, and Department of Health matters.

Her previous experience representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants gives her tremendous insight on the tactics and strategies use by both parties, which empowers her to present a more effective defense for her clients.

Labor & Employment

Lisa helps clients navigate employment discrimination claims and has litigated breach of contract and discrimination/wage cases filed in federal court. She also represents facilities and health care providers in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Agency for Health Care Administration, and Department of Health matters.

Medical Malpractice

Lisa defends mental health facilities, hospitals, and health care professionals in a wide range of medical malpractice matters, including personal injury, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death claims.

Transportation

Lisa has litigated numerous motor vehicle accident cases to verdict, including claims of automobile negligence.
