Dowdy White is an Associate in our Atlanta office, and he focuses his practice on agribusiness and food matters; business transactions; business litigation; energy, regulatory and utilities; government affairs; and medical malpractice.

Before joining Hall Booth Smith, Dowdy was a judicial extern at the Georgia Court of Appeals for Judge Elizabeth Gobeil. He was previously a summer intern at HBS, where he worked on legal research and composed memoranda on government liability and medical malpractice matters in addition to collaborating with partners on document analysis and trial preparation.

Earlier in his career, Dowdy interned in the Office of Executive Counsel under Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, and he was a campaign manager for John Wilkinson’s run for Georgia State Senate and served as a legislative aide. He also served as an aide in the Georgia State Senate, and he was a congressional agricultural fellow at the U.S. House of Representatives.

Dowdy earned a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Georgia State University College of Law. He was the Legislation Editor for the Georgia State University Law Review, where he supervised the annual publication of the Peach Sheets that detail the legislative history of important pieces of legislation in the most recent session of the Georgia General Assembly. He also was a student intern in the Georgia State University College of Law’s Investor Advocacy Clinic.

He holds a Master of Public Administration, cum laude, from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University. Dowdy also completed a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in agricultural communication from the University of Georgia, where he was recognized with a Certificate in Leadership and Service. During his undergraduate studies, he was a College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Ambassador and a member of the Georgia Master  4-H Club.
