William T. Viergever is Of Counsel in our office in West Palm Beach, Florida, and he has more than two decades of litigation experience concentrated in medical malpractice and general liability defense.

Before joining HBS, he spent 20 years at another firm in West Palm Beach where he rose to become a Partner and leading litigator for medical malpractice and liability matters. William fights hard to protect the interests of hospitals, long-term care and assisted living facilities, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals in a wide range of medical malpractice, negligence, wrongful diagnosis and missed diagnosis and other health care related matters. He also handles general liability, premises liability and other construction-related claims.

William has litigated in state and federal courts in Florida, and he is also admitted to practice in California. He has an extensive appellate practice, and represents clients in appeals before the State District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Earlier in his career, William served as a law clerk to the Honorable Hugh S. Glickstein of Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal. He also worked as a certified legal intern in the Office of the Public Defender for the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida. He spent one year as a high school algebra and geometry student teacher before pursuing a career in law.

William earned a Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a member of the University of Miami Law Review, and participated in the National Moot Court Team and the Moot Court Board. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary math education from the University of Central Florida.
