Brad Carver Becomes Newest Columnist for James Magazine

Bard Carver, partner and Senior Managing Director of Government Affairs at Hall Booth Smith has become the newest regular columnist/contributor to James magazine, the nine year old publication devoted to covering Georgia politics and related issues. James is published by InsiderAdvantage/Internet News Agency owner of InsiderAdvantageGeorgia (www.insideradvantage.com) and the Southern Political report (www.southernpoliticalreport.com ).

Carver joins other James columnists such as Randy Evans, Larry Walker, and associate publisher Todd Rehm as regulars in the magazine. In the newest edition of James Carver discusses the impact on Georgia from the Supreme Court ruling on the Voting Rights Act.

Mr. Carver has been practicing law in the state of Georgia for over 14 years with concentration in practice areas of Government Affairs; Energy, Regulatory and Utilities; Environmental, Mass Torts and Land Use; International; and Business Litigation practice groups. Prior to Hall Booth Smith, P.C., Mr. Carver worked for Miller & Martin, Alston & Bird, the Georgia Municipal Association, and Georgia Power Company.

During law school, Mr. Carver deployed with the Army to Tuzla, Bosnia, from May 1996 to January 1997 as the Commander of a Detachment of the 341st Adjutant General Co. and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. In September 2003, Mr. Carver returned to Atlanta from a 14-month tour of duty in Kuwait and Iraq where he supported the 3rd Army as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for exceptionally meritorious service during combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Carver continues to actively serve in the U.S. Army Reserves in the rank of Major as the Senior Legal Opinions Attorney for the 213th Legal Support Organization, headquartered in Decatur, Georgia.
