Hall Booth Smith Adds New Associates in Atlanta, Memphis and Nashville

ATLANTA & MEMPHIS & NASHVILLE — Hall Booth Smith, P.C. has added four new associates to its offices in Atlanta, Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, as the firm continues to grow its litigation practice across the Southeast.
Austin Atkinson is an associate in the Atlanta office, specializing in aging services. Mr. Atkinson is a former clerk for the Honorable J. Randal Hall of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Mr. Atkinson received a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, at Georgia State University College of Law after completing a Bachelor of Science and Arts in agribusiness at the University of Georgia. Mr. Atkinson is admitted in the Georgia State and Superior Courts as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
Allison Averbuch is an associate in the Atlanta office, focused on employment law and general liability. Prior to working for Hall Booth Smith, Ms. Averbuch worked in the labor and employment practice group at Jones Day where she defended employers in individual discrimination employment disputes and multi-plaintiff and class action litigation involving Fair Labor Standards Act issues. She also defended cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. Averbuch has an active pro bono practice that includes work for the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Safe Families Office, where she seeks protective orders on behalf of domestic violence victims. Ms. Averbuch earned a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, summa cum laude, after earning a Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, from the College of William and Mary.
Danielle Russell is an associate in the Memphis office, focused on aging services, dental, general liability, health care, medical malpractice and professional negligence matters. Ms. Russell served as a clerk for the Honorable Camille R. McMullen of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. Ms. Russell earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, with a concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She served as Managing Editor of the Tennessee Law Review and was awarded the Third Year Prize, which recognizes the contributions of third-year members and editors. During law school, Ms. Russell represented indigent clients in the Advocacy Clinic, one of the longest running legal clinics in the country. She was awarded the CALI Award for Excellence in Business Associations and was named the 2014-2015 Woolf Advocacy Scholar. Ms. Russell completed a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Business Economics and International Business from the University of Tennessee.
Carly M. MacMillan is an associate in the Nashville office, focused on aging services and long-term care defense. Earlier in her career, Ms. MacMillan worked for Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, a Florida-based nursing home defense firm where she defended long-term care facilities against negligence and wrongful death claims. While in Florida, she also served as a law clerk. Ms. MacMillan earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law after graduating with a Bachelor’s in public relations, magna cum laude. Ms. MacMillan is a member of the Nashville chapter of the Lawyers’ Association for Women and the Nashville Bar Association.  She is admitted to practice in both Tennessee and Florida.
