HBS Attorneys Selected as Super Lawyers in the 2022 Colorado Super Lawyers Magazine
In the 2022 edition of the Colorado Super Lawyers magazine, the law firm of Hall Booth Smith (HBS) will once again be recognized for its outstanding legal work as five of its attorneys are on the list of Super Lawyers: Christine A. Craigmile, Elizabeth C. Moran, Scott S. Nixon, Catherine O’Brien Crum and Bradley N. Shefrin. The list seeks to recognize outstanding Colorado attorneys from a variety of practice areas and recognizes no more than 5 percent of attorneys in each state. HBS attorneys have been recognized on this list since the award’s inception.
Partner Christine Craigmile was honored for her work in medical malpractice defense. Christine has more than 30 years of experience as a litigator and trial attorney with numerous precedent cases to her credit. Chris specializes in high-exposure medical malpractice and professional malpractice lawsuits, including birth injury, misdiagnosis or failure to diagnose, surgical error, wrong site surgery, anesthesia error, infection, uninformed consent, and negligence.
Partner Elizabeth Moran earned this honor with her work in the Appellate practice area. For three decades, she has concentrated her practice on appeals to safeguard hard-fought victories and overturn unfavorable outcomes in lower courts. She has more than 100 published and unpublished appellate decisions, and countless trial court decisions. She specializes in high-stakes medical malpractice, long-term care and aging services, correctional health care, dental, insurance, civil rights related to medical and health care, and professional licensing.
Partner Scott Nixon, whose work in medical malpractice defense is being honored, has four decades of legal experience and concentrates his practice on medical malpractice defense and other health care litigation. Scott defends physicians, surgeons, nurses, managed care and HMO groups, hospitals, health care systems, physician groups, and other health care professionals in complex high-exposure cases such as catastrophic injury, misdiagnosis, wrongful diagnosis, birth trauma, unexpected surgical outcomes and wrongful death.
Catherine O’Brien Crum, a Partner with three decades of legal experience, is being recognized for her work in medical malpractice defense. She formerly worked as a registered nurse, and brings that medical knowledge to bear as she defends health care professionals in medical malpractice and liability cases. Catherine represents health care systems, hospitals, urgent care centers, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, laboratories, doctors, nurses and other health care professionals and their insurers in a wide variety of litigation.
In his tenth year being on the Super Lawyer list, Partner Bradley Shefrin is being acknowledged for his work in Construction Litigation. He concentrates his practice on construction, real estate and general liability litigation defense, and works closely alongside companies of all sizes to protect their interests and support the growth of their businesses. Brad specializes in insurance litigation defense for builders, general contractors, engineers, construction trade companies, design professionals, manufacturers, distributors, landowners, homeowners associations and employers in all manner of litigation.
HBS would like to congratulate the recipients of this year’s Super Lawyer awards. These honors recognize the outstanding legal work performed by HBS attorneys and bolster the firm’s reputation as a leading law firm.
