HBS is pleased to welcome Frances Parker, Abe Varner, and Grace Mann, as new associates in the Atlanta office. Frances Parker earned her J.D. from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and was in the top 5% of her class, and her Bachelor of Accountancy from the George Washington University, magna cum laude. During law school, she served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Mercer Law Review, was a member of the Mercer Advocacy Council, and was a member of the Mugal National Tax Moot Court competition team. Ms. Parker was a Judicial Intern for the Honorable W. Homer Drake, Jr. in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia and a summer associate at HBS.
Abe Varner earned his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law, magna cum laude, and his B.A. from the University of Georgia, magna cum laude. He graduated from law school with the honor of receiving the highest pro bono distinction by dedicating 150 hours to pro bono work. While in law school, he served as an Associate Legislative Editor on the Georgia State University Law Review. Mr. Varner was an Extern for the Honorable Chief Justice Hugh Thompson, Georgia Supreme Court, and for the Honorable Judge Shawn LaGrua, Fulton County Superior Court. Mr. Varner also assisted in prosecuting felony crimes with the Cobb County District Attorney's Office under Georgia's Third- Year Practice Act. In addition, he gained experience working as a graduate research assistant for Professor Caren Morrison, where he assisted with her studies on jurors' uses of social media at trial.
Grace Mann earned her J.D. from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class, magna cum laude. During law school, she received several CALI awards, including in the areas of International Business Transactions, Contract Drafting, and Corporate Issues. She also served as the Eleventh Circuit Survey Editor for the Mercer Law Review. She was an intern for the Superior Court of Richmond County, Georgia, and a summer associate at HBS. Ms. Mann graduated as a double major from the University of Georgia with degrees in Marketing and German. She has a professional working proficiency in the German language.
