Law.com: Andrew Hazen Offers Career Insights
In a profile published on Law.com as part of the publication’s “How I Made it to Partner” series, Andrew K. Hazen, partner at Hall Booth Smith, provides unique career insights on his journey, including being elected to the firm’s partnership in 2019.
In the article, Hazen offers advice to associates wishing to make partner including what mistakes to avoid, challenges they can anticipate, and the skills needed to be successful.
“Be willing to seize opportunities when they are presented, even if that means developing a new area of practice. Also, figure out what your firm lacks and needs. We were a litigation-heavy firm when I started, but as we grew, opportunities arose in the corporate transactional space,” he said.
Hazen focuses his practice on corporate, transactional, and real estate matters. He also serves as outside general counsel to several small and mid-sized businesses in the agriculture/food, commercial real estate, construction, health care, insurance, and manufacturing industries. Hazen assists clients with asset purchases and divestitures, corporate formation and restructuring, labor & employment matters, leasing, OSHA compliance and investigations, and business and real estate litigation.
