Attorneys Caroline Buchanan & M. Shanter Chaparro Join HBS Charleston
Hall Booth Smith Charleston is excited to announce the addition of Attorneys Caroline Buchanan and M. Shanter Chaparro.
Caroline Buchanan
Caroline Buchanan focuses her practice on aging services and medical malpractice matters. Prior to joining HBS, Caroline was a law clerk for the Honorable Blake A. Hewitt of the South Carolina Court of Appeals.
She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina, where she earned the CALI award in Advanced Family Law, Securities Regulation, and Gender-Based Violence. She was also an article editor for the ABA Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Journal. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama.
M. Shanter Chaparro
Shanter Chaparro focuses on a broad range of business litigation, construction defect, personal injury, product defect, and general liability matters. His knowledge of the construction industry and business combined have allowed him to develop and implement litigation strategies that continuously deliver results aligned with his clients’ goals.
Prior to joining HBS, Shanter represented contractors and developers in complex construction defect litigation, including large multi-family and class action construction defect cases at a boutique law firm in Charleston. He also routinely represented other construction clients in premises liability, personal injury, and mechanic’s lien cases.
