Atlanta Magazine Names Six to the List of Georgia’s “Rising Star” 2012

The law firm of Hall Booth Smith (HBS) placed six attorneys on Atlanta Magazine’s list of Georgia’s “Rising Stars 2012.”  Attorneys Matthew Allen and Shaun M. Daugherty of the Atlanta office; Ernest Beaton, IV, Charles A. Dorminy, and N. Daniel Lovein of the Brunswick office; and Patrick N. Millsaps of the Albany office were all named to this exclusive list.

Mr. Daugherty and Mr. Dorminy were both selected for their outstanding work in medical personal injury defense. Mr. Daugherty is a partner in the Atlanta office and has an extensive practice in the fields of professional negligence, medical malpractice, intellectual property, retail liability, and entertainment. This is the second time that he has been recognized as a “Rising Star.” Mr. Dorminy was recently named partner in the Brunswick office. His practice areas include medical malpractice defense, health care, local government law and litigation, employment law, and general insurance defense litigation. This was his first “Rising Star” award.

Mr. Allen was named a “Rising Star” in the field of business and corporate practice. He primarily represents entrepreneurs, project sponsors, and equity investors in financing agricultural, industrial, real estate, and infrastructure projects abroad. Mr. Allen recently spent a year managing Hall Booth Smith’s first overseas office in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Mr. Beaton received recognition in the field of general litigation. Mr. Beaton recently joined the Brunswick office of HBS where he practices in the areas of construction litigation, workers’ compensation defense, and general liability defense.

Mr. Lovein was recognized for personal injury defense. A partner in the firm’s Brusnwick office, Mr. Lovein practices in the areas of workers’ compensation defense, premise liability, medical malpractice, real estate, school law, and local government law. This is the third time he has been named a “Rising Star” by Atlanta Magazine.

Mr. Millsaps, a partner in the Albany office, received his second “Rising Stars” award for the field of business and corporate practice. His practice focuses on civil litigation and corporate representation. He has also represented the Georgia Department of Community Health and the Mitchell County School Board.
