Amitisse Noohi

Amitisse Noohi is an associate attorney in the firm’s New York office whose practice focuses on the defense of healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice matters, as well as general liability litigation. Amitisse contributes to early liability and damages evaluation, expert coordination, and the implementation of litigation strategies aligned with client and carrier objectives, all while maintaining trial readiness. She also has experience in appellate and premises liability matters.

Prior to joining Hall Booth Smith, Amitisse practiced with a prominent New York defense firm, where she represented major hospital systems and healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice litigation. Her experience includes motion practice, legal and medical research, depositions, discovery, expert coordination, and trial preparation, and she has significant experience evaluating complex legal and factual issues. She has particular experience in motion practice, especially summary judgment motions, and worked diligently to help secure numerous favorable outcomes for clients, including voluntary dismissals and negotiated settlements.

Earlier in her career, Amitisse worked with the opioid group of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, where she assisted with investigations and prosecutions involving healthcare and regulatory matters. She also completed a health law externship with the general counsel’s office of a major hospital system, where she conducted research and analysis related to HIPAA compliance, physician contracting, regulatory compliance, and medical malpractice issues.

Amitisse earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law, where she concentrated her studies in Health Law and Business Law and held several student leadership positions. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of San Francisco, with minors in Middle Eastern Studies and Legal Studies.
