Brittany C. Langley

Attorney at Law

Biography

Brittany Langley is an Associate in Hall Booth Smith’s Athens office, where she practices medical malpractice defense.

Brittany did not take a traditional path to practicing law. Before becoming an attorney, she spent more than ten years working as a litigation paralegal in Georgia, gaining hands-on experience in every stage of the litigation process. During that time, she assisted with case strategy, drafted pleadings and dispositive motions, managed discovery, prepared cases for trial, and worked closely with attorneys and clients in a wide range of civil matters, developing a firsthand understanding of the challenges clients face throughout litigation. That experience inspired her to pursue her law degree, which she earned while working full time, graduating summa cum laude from Georgia State University College of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as a research and teaching assistant in legal ethics.

Following law school, Brittany joined the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, serving first as a central staff attorney and later as a chambers staff attorney to Chief Judge William H. Pryor, Jr. There, she drafted appellate opinions and legal memoranda, analyzed complex civil and criminal appeals, reviewed voluminous trial court records, and applied appellate precedent to help resolve significant legal issues. This experience gave her rare insight into judicial decision-making and sharpened her legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Today, Brittany draws on both her deep litigation background and her appellate experience to provide thoughtful, strategic representation to physicians, healthcare professionals, hospitals, and other healthcare entities. Her ability to anticipate legal issues, evaluate cases from both trial and appellate perspectives, and craft persuasive arguments serves her clients well at every stage of litigation.
