Charles B. Kraft
Biography
Charles Kraft is a Partner in the Albuquerque office of Hall Booth Smith. He focuses his practice on defending professionals, businesses, and organizations in complex litigation involving catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims, usually in the areas of transportation and trucking, products liability, professional malpractice, and regulatory and licensure issues.
Charlie brings a diverse litigation background and extensive courtroom experience to his practice. He began his legal career as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Mexico, where he represented state boards and commissions in administrative and civil matters. In that role, he handled litigation, rulemaking proceedings, disciplinary hearings, and regulatory compliance matters. Drawn to the courtroom, Charlie later joined the Law Offices of the Public Defender in Albuquerque, where he represented clients from arraignment through trial in a wide variety of criminal defense matters. This experience provided him with substantial trial and courtroom advocacy experience and helped establish the litigation skills that continue to serve his clients today.
Before joining HBS, Charlie spent a decade with a prominent Albuquerque civil defense firm, including five years as a partner, director, and shareholder. During that time, he represented a broad array of clients concentrated around defending high-exposure claims.
Today, Charlie leverages his broad litigation background to provide strategic, practical counsel to clients facing complex legal challenges. He is known for his thoughtful and pragmatic approach to case management, strong advocacy skills, and commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for his clients.
