James H. Curlin, IV
Biography
James H. Curlin, IV is an associate in Hall Booth Smith’s Rogers, Arkansas office, where his practice includes Medical Malpractice, General Liability, Labor & Employment, and Business Litigation matters. He works with individuals and businesses to understand not only the legal issues they face, but also the practical concerns and personal stakes behind them, with an emphasis on thoughtful, responsive, and solutions-oriented representation.
James came to the practice of law after working closely with people and serving their needs in another field. That experience continues to shape his approach as an attorney and his belief that effective representation begins with listening carefully, understanding a client’s goals, and building relationships grounded in trust. Before joining HBS as an associate, James served as both a summer associate and law clerk with the firm. He also gained experience with several Arkansas law firms and the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office and served as Dean’s Fellow to Cynthia E. Nance, Dean of the University of Arkansas School of Law.
James earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where he served as a Note & Comment Editor for the Arkansas Law Review. He also won the law school’s Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Competition and received the competition’s Best Oralist award. James received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their three children.
