Biography

Jennifer I. Lopez is an attorney in the Buffalo office, where she focuses her practice on defending corporate and individual healthcare providers against claims related to long-term care and medical malpractice.

Before litigation practice, Jennifer served as a legal fellow with the New York State Unified Court System’s Franklin H. Williams Judicial Commission. In that role, she worked for judges throughout the Eighth Judicial District and assisted with legal research, drafted decisions on motions, and prepared memoranda on complex civil law issues.

During law school, Jennifer focused her advocacy on disability and aging justice. Through clinic work, she served as a court evaluator to assess whether Article 81 guardianship was appropriate for an allegedly incapacitated person; and helped prepare and submit a rebuttal on behalf of an individual with disabilities in her discrimination case before the New York City Commission on Human Rights. Jennifer also served as Managing Editor of CUNY Law Review.

Jennifer obtained both her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from City University of New York institutions. She also completed a certificate program with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on building data science solutions through no-code AI and machine learning.
