Katherine R. Heath
Biography
Katherine R. Heath is an Associate based in our office in Asheville, North Carolina, and represents clients in all parts of North Carolina and South Carolina. She focuses her practice on regulatory, administrative, and litigation matters in health care. Specifically, she works with providers across the Carolinas to address legal issues involving Medicaid Long Term Care eligibility, including handling special proceedings and administrative hearings and appeals. She also counsels clients on financial best practices and state and federal Medicaid policies.
Her experience includes handling a variety of cases involving general and governmental liability, and she has secured successful results for skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, businesses, employers, law enforcement officers and entities, health care professionals, and other licensed professionals.
Katherine is a proud Demon Deacon, earning her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University.
Prior to joining Hall Booth Smith, Katherine was a legal intern at the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office, where she tried multiple district court cases to verdict under the supervision of the Forsyth County DA, and she developed her legal writing skills as an intern for the Honorable Valerie J. Zachary of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
She was also a member of the American Association for Justice Trial Team, winning a national championship in 2017, and she was later named to the Order of the Barristers to recognize her exceptional work in trial advocacy.
